Preschool Trunk or Treat

Monday, October 31, 2016

Today I was able to sneak out a little early to volunteer as a trunk or treat parent at preschool.  It was so cute seeing all the kids lined up in their costumes.  I decorated the car in spider webs and handed out little packages of goldfish crackers.  I think the best part was seeing my little guy wave to me at each station as he made his way around the loop.  I did have to laugh though - growing up Halloween has always been a potentially snowy day and cute little costumes were often covered up with winter jackets.  This year, A had a comfy, cozy and warm costume, yet it was 82 degrees when we kicked off the trunk or treating!!

Sweet Baby Ellis

Friday, October 21, 2016

I’ve had the opportunity to call Meg my dear friend for many years.  Her and her husband Richard recently welcomed their first child Ellis James.  I was so honored to be able to shoot their new little family of three during their first few weeks together.

I adore capturing these precious moments.  The moments when new parents can't stop looking at their new little one.  The moments that seem so quite as every detail is being studied.  The moments where deep love is growing.

Fall Festival at School

Thursday, October 20, 2016

Halloween can be a really tough holiday for those kiddos that have special senses - costumes are tough, it is often dark, the noises can be scary - all your senses are alert.  We have cautiously been hoping that costumes will get less tough for our sweet boy, and this year I think we are going to have a really awesome holiday.

We had a test run tonight at daycare for their Fall Festival.  Our guy enjoyed all the fun and games, did a little trick or treating and best of all wore his costume the entire event.  Jason and I both left so proud of boy!

One quick shot

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

I'm taking Summer Murdock's Magic of Light workshop right now and needed to grab a few shots for this week's assignment.  With the sun getting ready to slip behind the mountains we pulled up to the field near our house.  While the haze is intense, the focus a little soft, and the exposure not right, this little image is near perfect in my heart.  Watching my boys lean in for a 'nosey kissy' in the fading light of the day was nothing less than sweet perfection.

Little Isla at The Seattle Center

Sunday, October 16, 2016

The last of the photos from my workshops up in Seattle before I maybe post a few from the trip side of weekend.  These pictures were taken in Seattle Center.  The fall colors were just beautiful, and their daughter did so well for the shoot.

I love doing inside the home shoot - pulling together bits of where we live our lives and find comfort together, but I also love the magic that happens outside when there is more space to play.

A Mom and her Girls

Friday, October 14, 2016

Right before dinner time can be a tough time to pull a family together for shoot, but it also happens to be when the light can be just right.  This mom and her two girls had a really fun shoot in Seattle reading books, jumping on the bed, and getting some snuggles in.  The girls were dressed in colorful princess dresses, but there is always something so moving and classic about a black and white image.

Soon to be a Family of Four

Wednesday, October 12, 2016

This little family is a family that Elena Blair has had the opportunity to capture a few times.  Elena was instructing a indoor family lifestyle course up in Seattle, and she was a wonderful instructor.

Hannah, John and little baby. Their baby just recently turned one, and Hannah is 16 weeks pregnant with baby #2.  She had the cutest bump starting to show, and John was such a fantastic father.
