It's Fall Y'all

Tuesday, September 27, 2016

We drove up to the mountains this past weekend to see the fall leaves.  I love the changing of the seasons.  Every season.  I love the catalyst of change it brings in my life.  Fall makes me crave more family time, more cozy, home-bound time.  Wrapped in blankets.  Warm drinks in steamy mugs.  Chilly mornings and crisp evenings.  It is a season of warmth and comfort.

Backyard Critters

Monday, September 26, 2016

We spent some time yesterday afternoon cleaning up the yard.  Fall is here.  The plants needed to be cut back, the veggie garden needed to be turned over after a poor harvest year.  The weather was perfect for working.

While clearing back some plants, Jason found this little critter in the garden.  We all watched him (or is it a her?) lumber around his hand for a few minutes, snapped a few photos and then released him back into the wild, but of our greenbelt instead of our garden.

My Boys

Thursday, September 22, 2016

These two capture my heart.  I love watching them play together.  It is a daily thing when the little one says, "Do you know what time it is?" and then follows that up with "Tackle Time!!!!"  They love each other and their relationship deepens by the day.  It isn't always easy being a parent, but it sure is rewarding to see their bond.

Homecoming Parade

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

I saw the parade signs in the morning as I drove out of the neighborhood.  I figured we wouldn't make it in time this year.  I wasn't going to be able to leave work early since I was going into the office late after A's therapy session.  Yet, we lucked out again this year.  Driving into the neighborhood in the evening I saw people lining up and realized we hadn't yet missed the celebration.  I grabbed my camera, and hollered for Jason to get in the car with Anders and I.  We were off to the same spot we watched the parade last year.

This year my little guy really understood there were treats we be had.  I think he suckered me into THREE suckers while we are at the parade.
