Playing Ball

Tuesday, July 26, 2016

Last night I picked A up from daycare and made the last minute decision that we would go to Jason's softball game.  We hadn't been to one yet this summer, and the weather looked like it would hold out for the game (we have had rain just about every Monday afternoon this summer it seems).

We got to the park and walked to the field.

AB started to cheer on the team from the stands.  He is so funny that he quickly learns and memorizes people's names and heckles them from his seat.

He jumped for joy when there was a good play.

And cheered loudly for Daddy in the field.

Daddy came along to join us in the stands for a few minutes midway through the game.

Then took his turn at bat.

It was a nail biter at the end.  The other team was trying to make a comeback.

After the game ended, little AB got to go out in the field and have a little practice himself.

He even tried bunting the ball all on his own.

Overall a beautiful evening at the ball field watching the sun set on a warm evening of memories.

Sleeping Baby

Thursday, July 14, 2016

Will I always want to watch him sleep even when he is an adult?  Will he always be my baby boy who makes my heart ache and swell with every breath?  Yes. Yes a million times over.  He will always be my precious child.

Sweet Child of Mine

A few quick photos of dirty toes, sticky hands, and a cheesy grin right before bedtime on a hot summer evening.

Weekend in Vail

Monday, July 11, 2016

Spending time in Vail is one of our favorite things to do.  Jason and I enjoy weekends alone to escape, and we equally enjoy spending time as a family up in the mountains.  Vail has always held a special place in our heart, and with each trip the memories just continue to be cataloged as happy times.

This weekend we escaped and stayed again at the Mountain Haus.  We got up there late on Friday and spent some time throwing rocks, playing on the playground, and then walking through the village before a late bedtime.  Saturday we enjoyed more park time, a trip to Beaver Creek to take the gondola, and then lots of quality time in the village.  We were so fortunate to be able to spend time with our dearest friends The Whites while they enjoyed a few weeks of summer in the mountains too.  We had dinner together and were able to spend some time catching up as our boys played.  Sunday morning we wrapped up the weekend with some last minute playtime and the Farmer's Market before heading home on I-70.

Fourth of July Swimming

Thursday, July 7, 2016

This year, like with the past several years, we headed to the pool after hosting our family BBQ.  We got there shortly before 6PM and by 6PM we were one of only two families still at the pool.  It was nice to have it nearly all to ourselves.

Sparkler Boy

Wednesday, July 6, 2016

This was the first year that the little man enjoyed playing with and watching fireworks.  It was so fun to see him explore more and experience the holiday.  The bigger fireworks in the street were a little loud, but he still enjoyed helping set them up and then watching them.  It was especially fun and special because our new neighbors came over and spent the evening with us and there oldest daughter is just a couple weeks younger.  After doing our own little show at the house, we headed to the city show.

Learning to Ride

Tuesday, July 5, 2016

We have been debating for a few months if we should get A a scooter, and if we did, if he would have the coordinator and motor skills, paired with the patience and courage to give it a go.  This weekend we finally thought we should try it out, and the little guy has really enjoyed spinning it around the living room, and then out in the street.  We made it about the length of the 5 houses before he wanted to just be pushed on the scooter and then about the same length before he just wanted to walk to the park.
