2015 December Daily Foundation Pages: Part 1

Saturday, November 14, 2015

This will be my third year of using Ali Edwards kits to work on my December Daily album, but looking back I must not have blogged 2014's album. You can find 2013's cover and foundation pages in the archives though.

I loved that Ali broke out some of the elements so that you could by mini kits and albums separately.  I was lucky and was able to order a Jasmine Jones Merry album before it sold out, and also paired Ali's main kit with Jasmine's mini kit.  I did have some left over items from various other Christmas albums that I pulled from my stash to include in this year's album.

The past few mornings I've woken up early to get a start on this year's foundation pages while it is still quiet.  I've enjoyed listening to Christmas music, drinking coffee from my elf mug and getting a little crafting time.

So far, I've been able to complete foundation pages for the first 9 days of the month.  Hoping to be able to spend a little more time this weekend on it and then finish it up by Thanksgiving.

For my cover I used a little Santa that must have come from a gift tag or card paired with some elements from this year's kits.

Then I pulled down Ali's intentions from her foundation pages, and really focused my story on experiencing the joy this holiday season.  I used the an extra piece of a transparency from the 2014 kit as a divider with a Joy tab stapled on.

I started last year with a calendar and our advent activities written in and like looking back on that to plan this year's activities, so I've repeated that process.  For the one card I used a chipboard "1" and embossed it.  I will include a picture below that, and then on back side of the cut down page protector I've included a 3x4 card and will have another photo.

For day two I've included a 2 tag embellished with some wooden stars and washi tape.  I've included space to tell that day's story on the "so loving this card."

For days 3 and 4 I've included a shaker spot with some kit elements.  I really love the paper that the large red chipboard 3 is on.  On the 4 card I used more washi tape and one of the cute word stickers that reads "Tis the Season."

Page 5 is just a placeholder now that isn't built out.  Typically we see Santa that first day so I will embellish that photo with the 5.  Going into Day 6, I used a large gold 6 from last year, and placed it on my favorite December paper.  I'm not completely sure that the 7 will stay, but for now it is there.  For the 8 I used I a wooden snowflake from Michael's paired with an 8 sticker and adhered them to the beautiful snowy transparency.  Then there is a place for a daily story and photos.  Then on page 9 I've included some wooden pieces, and the wooden snowflake will get fused in once I'm sure everything is set there.

So there are the first 9 pages. More to come!
