Bowling at Home

Set em up, knock em down, repeat.  We have learned a little trick to help us be able to end this never ending game.  Remove a pin after every turn.  It helps the little guy know when the game is going to end, and bonus for us, fewer pins to reset.

Weekly Chores

Thursday, October 2, 2014

Every Sunday night we get the trash and recycling out on the curb.  It is the little guy's favorite chore to help with.  I hope that when he is 16 and I'm asking him to take the trash out I can remind him that once upon a time he looked forward to the chore with excitement.

A Budding Artist

Wednesday, October 1, 2014

We are working a lot on prewriting skills and with his low muscle tone little A needs even extra practice.  We have water pens, chalk, crayons, paintbrushes and more.  Right now the favorite is Mommy's special markers.  We practice naming colors and drawing, and then the best part is the erasing.

A little tip for those who are also working on prewriting skills, the best thing to do to work on the actual holding technique is to use small, broken pieces of crayons.  The smaller pieces require the proper grasp that is replicated during actual writing.
