Science Experiments for Toddlers

Sensory play is big in our house, and using it as a way to work on communication skills is even better. We used food coloring, vinegar and baking soda to conduct the famous "volcano experiment" at home. We talked about what would happen when we put the vinegar in with the baking soda, we talked about what color the liquid was, we talked about what types of sounds it was making and then we talked about how it felt to play with. And even if the little guy only imitated some of the sounds and answered only some of the questions, he was learning and processing the entire time.
