Letters to My Son - September

Friday, September 20, 2013

I'm taking part in a new blog circle with some other fabulous women, where each month I will include a letter to my baby boy along with a few pictures that capture the emotion and love I feel for him.  I hope that you will enjoy this feature as much I have enjoyed the process, and will also take the leap to the next blog in the circle each month.

Dearest boy,

Each night I sneak into your room and look at your peaceful sleeping face.  You might stir a little and as you do innocence oozes from every pore of your body.  From your precious, little lips escapes a sweet suckle that reminds me of your first days in this world.

In the shadows with the hallway light casting a soft glow on your crib I am overcome with love and awe at how incredibly lucky your father and I are to have you in our life.

I whisper prayers throughout the day that you lead a full and happy life.  That you will face enough challenges to let you appreciate your successes.  That you will always hear the roar from those cheering you on.  That you will know love, joy, happiness, hope, and have a hunger that continually drives you forward in life.

Over the past few months as we gone through speech and special education therapy I have seen how it forces you to flex, compromise, overcome, challenge, and fight.  I see how it wears you down and causes you to often be overcome with frustration and tears, but I equally see those moments of pride, eagerness, resolve, courage and determination as you laugh and grow through the exercises.

You are my pride and joy little AB.  Keep growing, keep learning.  I will always be your proud momma bear protecting you, pushing you, rooting for you and most of all loving you.

Forever yours,

Now hop over to see Heidi Kapust's blog to read her beautiful letter.

  1. Beautifully written! There is nothing more precious then a sleeping baby!

  2. Oy, these letters are making me all weepy this morning! There's nothing so beautiful as a mother's love and your letter captured it so well.

  3. I too love to check in on them when they are sleeping. They are so peaceful and any trouble or worries from the day melt away when you look at their little faces. Love this!

  4. you have a beautiful way with words.

  5. Beautiful. The words and the photos.
